Last vintage, all our Pinot Grigio fans flocked to get a taste of this elegant white from Lodi (Wine Enthusiast’s 2015 Region of the Year). The 2016 has just landed in our cellars, and it’s somehow even more deliciously thirst quenching.
We credit its talented creator, Steve Millier, and California’s fantastic 2016 vintage. Steve used the best, hand-harvested fruit he could get, all sourced from top, family-owned vineyard sites across Lodi. His trademark, kid-glove approach in the cellar (like cool fermenting in a steel tank) locked in all the grape’s refreshing qualities.
Named for the graceful Sandhill crane (which migrates to California from Siberia to warm themselves in the region’s rich wetlands), the wine is a beautiful, silver-white color in the glass. Look forward to abundant aromas and flavors of fresh-sliced pear, lemon pith and white flowers soaring from your glass. Steve recommends serving it with a walnut and blue cheese salad, but we think grilled white fish with a squeeze of lemon will also be dynamite.
