Here’s an elegant Crémant that has all the sophistication of Champagne (with a far friendlier price). It was crafted by the renowned Gisselbrecht family at their award-winning, 350-year-old cellar, using nearly identical methods as Champagne winemakers. You’ll taste the quality on first sip.
While Champagne can only be made in Champagne, France, Crémant can be crafted in seven regions. This one comes from Alsace, where steep slopes, abundant sunshine (it’s the sunniest appellation in all of France) and the wind-shielding Vosges mountains all help give the wines pristine freshness. Sparkling wine first emerged in Alsace in 1900, when Julien Dopff applied the ‘champagne method’ to his whites. Today, Crémant d’Alsace accounts for half of all Crémant production.
This ‘Blanc de Noirs’ (‘white from black’) is 100% pure Pinot Noir. By keeping the grapes’ skins separate from the juice, winemakers are able to produce a luxurious, white sparkling wine with characteristics reminiscent of the much-loved red Pinots. Most notably, this sparkler is incredibly food-friendly (just like regular Pinot Noir) and will pair well with everything from cheese platters to seafood.
Look forward to soft aromas of orchard and citrus fruits, with hints of roasted nuts and white flowers. A fine mousse of delicate bubbles delights the palate, alongside flavors of ripe apple, lemon and almond.
