If you love great Cabernet, head to Langhorne Creek, home to small, quality-obsessed estates and some of Australia’s finest Cabs. Exhibit A – Chapel Road, a sumptuous Cabernet from the acclaimed Follett family and Lake Breeze Wines. Top Aussie critic James Halliday says it best: “Langhorne Creek's Lake Breeze continues to impress with high-quality red wines of exceptional quality.”
The Folletts have grown grapes in Langhorne Creek for over 120 years. In 1987, they established Lake Breeze Wines and have since won over 140 gold medals and 39 trophies for their wines – including a 5-red-star rating from Halliday. So – we're pretty excited about getting their latest Cab into your glasses. It's a gold-medal beauty that also sports top ratings from leading critics Raymond Chan and Sam Kim (of Wine Orbit). Here's what Mr. Kim had to say:
“Beautifully expressed, this delectable Cabernet is filled with black currant, dark plum, cocoa and cedar characters with a hint of cigar complexity. It is concentrated and generously weighted on the palate, and delivers excellent fruit intensity and rich texture, wonderfully supported by supple tannins. Highly enjoyable. 93 points.”
Crafted with fruit from premium vines (some 50 years old), Chapel Road will be ready to enjoy on arrival – especially with roast lamb or firm cheeses. You can also tuck a few bottles away for five to eight years. The wine will age beautifully. Either way, don’t delay. We’ve limited cases to go around.
