Bill Knuttel is a big name in California wine — just ask legendary estates Saintsbury and Chalk Hill (to name only two). These leading wineries have worked with Bill for decades, and he's really built up their reputations for top quality. But since striking out on his own a few years ago, Bill is more quality-driven than ever, and you’ll really taste that here, in his classic Sonoma Zinfandel.
Sonoma is a top spot for Zinfandel, the dark-skinned grape that arrived in the U.S. in the 1800s and is today regarded as California’s classic red. The name Bill chose is classic, too — Kore (“beauty”) was the nickname of Persephone, the ancient Greek goddess of the harvest.
Expect loads of luscious berry aromas and flavors with enticing hints white pepper and cinnamon, courtesy of aging in small barrels (a key aspect of Bill’s quality-obsessed approach). And then there's the long, luscious finish — this is a perfect barbecue red.
