The "Janare" line by La Guardiense was created within the scope of a project to defend the autochthonous wines of Sannio. It is a range of selected wines aimed mainly at promoting Falanghina and Aglianico. An authentic attempt at zoning the Guardia Sanframondi territory, in the heart of the production zone, focuses on enhancing the qualitative characteristics, linking them to the unrepeatable specificities of the cultivation locations.
In the Sannio district, Janare are witches, mythical figures of country civilization and culture that allude to the indomitable and robust character of the women of this land, capable of casting spells and fatal curses on their enemies. A tribute to preserve the memory of this old and seductive popular local tradition. Aglianico, in particular, is the product of careful selection in the vineyard and aging in the cellar in oak tonneaux, the ideal barrels for ironing out the natural harshness. An elegant and decisive red, a reference for the whole appellation.
Straw-yellow color, characteristic fruity bouquet of good intensity. Acidity and sapidity increase progressively giving a balanced, pleasant, and refreshing taste.
Light appetizers, gnocchi, home-made pasta with tomato sauce, pasta with zucchini, rise, fish or meat carpaccio, caprese with buffalo mozzarella, shellfish, seafood dishes. Very good with Parmigiana eggplants and perfect on creamy cheeses.
