The story of Jack's Masterpiece begins on Father's Day of 2006, when HALL President and former Winemaker, Mike Reynolds, was presented with a painted canvas by his 18-month-old son Jack, who had made it himself in the backyard. Mike proudly hung the painting in his winery office.

Mike became winery president in 2006, but each year he enjoys the opportunity to return to his first love, winemaking, and craft one signature blend. When the first vintage of Mike's wine was ready to bottle in 2007, he was also bestowed the task of picking the label, which typically features a select work of art from the winery collection. However, Mike decided to go a different direction and chose an extra special work of art for his handcrafted bottle: his son's painting. Hence "Jack's Masterpiece" was born, a tribute to legacy, pride, and passion.

The 2011 Jack’s Masterpiece Cabernet Sauvignon is blended with 4% Petit Verdot and boasts a dark ruby/purple color. The high-tone, vibrant aromas awaken the memory of very ripe raspberries warmed by the summer sun, with a floral element of violets, balanced by sweet, well-integrated French oak. The overall effect is subtle and deep. The palate is intense and full-bodied with flavors of dark ripe cherry, plentiful satiny tannins and rich toasted oak on the long finish. A sleek, urbane wine enjoyable to savor on its own. Will continue to mature over 15+ years.
