A blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon fermented to 13.0% alc. and aged 18 months in Slavonian barriques. Very full, dark, deep black-red color, near saturated, with youthful purple hues. The nose is a showcase of ripe, lifted berry fruit and plum aromas, with raspberries and boysenberries, along with fragrant esters and red florals, red licorice and oak spices. Dryish to taste and medium-bodied, up-front sweet, lush and succulent flavors of ripe black fruits are intermixed with licorice, toast, mocha and chocolate, and fill the palate. Fine-grained tannins underline the fruit adding to the concentration and drive. Fresh, bright acidity provides good energy to the juiciness, carrying blackberry and boysenberry flavors to good, deep, linear finish. This is a sweet and fruity Modern Tuscan red to match with hearty red meat dishes over the next 4-5 years.
