Beginning with the 2004 vintage, Dry Creek Vineyard introduced an exciting new proprietary blend to their line up of wines. They called this wine “The Mariner” because just as a mariner navigates his
ship, so too must a winemaker navigate his way through a vintage. This wine is the culmination of years spent working with different vineyards in the Dry Creek Valley, including their own estate DCV9 Endeavour property. The Mariner represents their vision to produce the finest Meritage wine from the Dry Creek Valley using the five noble Bordeaux varieties.
The 2010 The Mariner is composed of 41% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot and the rest Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. It has sweet tannins as well as plenty of black currant, cedar and plum characteristics, medium to full body, a distinctive elegance, and none of the rustic earthiness that Bordeaux varietals grown in Dry Creek Valley can sometimes possess. Enjoy this beauty now and over the next decade.
