Château d’Anvichar is exactly the kind of top-quality, modern Bordeaux we love to secure for our customers. This silky Grand Vin has a special family history, hails from a magnificent vintage, sports a slew of BIG international awards, and clocks in at under $22 a bottle.
The Galineau family purchased Château d’Anvichar in 2006, with the goal of crafting first-class wines as a team. Father Vincent named the estate after his three sons: Antoine, Victor, and Charles. Located in the heart of Saint-Genès de Castillon (next door to storied Merlot-haven, Saint-Emilion), the property is planted with just five hectares of vines. The Galineaus made this Grand Vin with Merlot grown on low-yielding (flavor-boosting!), 30-year-old vines, which produced seriously ripe, concentrated grapes, thanks to the stellar 2015 vintage.
The family’s efforts have really paid off on the awards circuit. Château d’Anvichar boasts three international gold medals from Mundus Vini, Gilbert & Gaillard, and Les Citadelles du Vin (plus a host of other impressive accolades). Look forward to ripe black cherry and bramble fruit flavors, underpinned by smooth vanilla spice notes. Decant an hour before serving, then pair with roasted duck, lamb, and more.
This is a real treat for fans of elegant, modern-style Bordeaux. Hurry to claim your share while our limited cases last.
