Francis Ford Coppola may be best known as the Academy Award winning director of The Godfather – but he’s also gaining an international reputation for his stunning wines.
This exhilarating Sauvignon Blanc is an homage to Coppola’s Italian-inspired San Francisco eatery. It also calls to mind Café Trieste, a nearby Italian espresso house where Coppola penned much of the screenplay for The Godfather. Acclaimed winemaker Corey Beck sourced premium parcels from top sites throughout California, during the fantastic 2016 harvest (the latest in an impressive string of top-notch vintages), which Corey tells us may even be better than lauded 2015.
You’re in for layers of fresh-cut apple, zingy citrus and elderflower notes with a whistle-clean finish. This is a delicious match for dishes starring creamy cheeses (goat cheese in particular!), seafood, salads and more.
As with all of Coppola’s wines, we expect this super-refreshing Sauvignon to be quite popular. Hurry for your share.
