What makes the Reserve so special?
Head winemaker Alan Kennett (winner of the Jimmy Watson Trophy, Australia’s top wine prize) crafted it with 100% Shiraz from the premium Clare Valley and old, low-yielding vines. These gnarled heirlooms offer precious little fruit, but the grapes they do produce pack a serious punch of rich, concentrated flavor. Back in the winery, Alan finished the wine with aging in fine oak barrels.
As you’ll taste, it’s a recipe for excellence. The Black Stump Reserve is elegant and well-structured, with luscious blackberry, mocha-spice, and subtle vanilla aromas and flavors.
